"Anne is of course a master of the shakuhachi, her concerts are always a treat, and the Matsudo Week extravaganza is a concert I look forward to lighting and participating in each year. If you get the chance to see one of Anne's curated shows, I highly recommend you do so... Anne directed the performance with her usual clarity and peaceful vision."

Audience review:
"I LOVED your music. At times I felt like I was bending and flowing with it – the gentle “reediness” of it, and simultaneously the purity of tone – magnificent. I loved how you began with those poems, the experience was moving and holistic because of that... my mind was being constantly stimulated with imagery." Linda Zibell

Your 'Whispered Shadows' piece was really amazing!! Gave me hope for what it can mean for the future of contemporary Shakuhachi ... I have a love and obsession for 'extended' techniques ... and 'extended' techniques for shakuhachi are clearly in good hands. Yyan Ng

“Anne [played] her flute and sang with it – two sounds resonating together with words inspired by Flinders Island: ‘a bone; a leaf; a stone; an echo; a shell; a seed; a twig; a feather…’   Anne’s hour long performance was from another place: her flutes, woven with poetry, with stories of her travels, with 600 year old pieces, with Bach, and with Yyan’s improvised guitar… and whirlies… a master of improvisation and adventure.” - Hitting the right note by Hilary Burden, TAS WEEKENDS, The Mercury 22.11.14
