May 16th, 2025, 7:30pm Itotake 糸竹 the Brandon Lee Koto Ensemble in concert with Anne Norman (shakuhachi). A variety of works – trad to contemporary by Japanese and Australian composers. Ito refers to the strings of the koto, while Take refers to the bamboo of the shakuhachi. NB: Anne did not perform in the above concert due to a car accident several days prior. All subsequent performances and school workshops for 5 months were cancelled due to concussion from head and neck injuries. She is thankfully able to once again perform in time for the following events:
Oct 8th, 2025, WORLD SHAKUHACHI DAY. Anne plays her composition Oodnadatta Who at 16:40 Tokyo time (18:40 Melbourne time) in the annual international online celebration of shakuhachi.
Nov 3rd, 2025 finished composing Butcherbird Waterhole, a duo for descant recorder and harpsichord, with a field recording by David Matthews. Commissioned by Jeanette Hajncl.
