Jan 2001, The Sea Ceremony – A community arts event directed by Anne Norman featuring her compositions: “Summer’s Day” and “Celebrate Life” sponsored by Frankston City Council. Staged on Frankston Beach at sunset as a part of the Frankston Festival of the Sea. Choir, band, dancers, poets, submerged actors and sculptor.

Mar 2001, Our Celebration of Machiko’s Life. “We Lose Things” performed with Tanaka Rika (power pole bells) & Kuroda Miwa (bass) at the memorial for Machiko Kaneko in Nishinomiya city, Japan.
Apr 2001, Three performances of ‘Full course no tenrankai’ by Gumbo Theatre Group in Osaka. Anne accompanied five actors on shakuhachi & other flutes in tragic scenes of famous characters from literature. Directed by Kayo Tamura.

Jun 2001, Anne composed Machiko in Kiewa for chimes, shakuhachi, harpsichord and recorder to be performed by Questing Spirit in concert with Ursula Genaehr in Wodonga in August. A piece in memory of dance friend, Machiko Kaneko.
